As our technology organization continues to grow, we are building a strong BPMO function grounded in execution, accountability, and real business outcomes.
Position Summary:
The Manager of Business Project Management Office "BPMO" is a hands-on, execution-focused leader responsible for supporting the day-to-day delivery of IT and cross-functional initiatives within HaloMD's BPMO. Reporting to the Director, BPMO, this role plays a critical part in ensuring initiatives move efficiently from intake through execution, reporting, and completion. This is a player-coach role that actively manages programs and projects, enforces delivery standards, supports tooling and process adoption, and coaches project managers and analysts. The BPMO Manager partners closely with the Director to operationalize BPMO strategy and ensure consistent, predictable delivery across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Delivery & Program Execution
- Actively manage and/or support multiple projects and programs, ensuring timely delivery and alignment to business outcomes
- Drive execution of approved initiatives from intake through completion with clear accountability and transparency
- Identify delivery risks, dependencies, and resource constraints early and escalate or address them proactively
Portfolio Support & Reporting
- Support portfolio intake, prioritization, and sequencing in partnership with the Director, BPMO
- Maintain accurate project plans, status updates, and delivery metrics
- Produce clear, actionable reporting that highlights progress, risks, and decisions needed, not just status
Process & Tool Execution
- Execute and reinforce BPMO processes across planning, delivery, governance, and reporting
- Support configuration, adoption, and day-to-day use of BPMO tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, PPM systems)
- Ensure delivery teams are following established standards while providing feedback for continuous improvement
Team Leadership & Coaching
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to project managers and analysts
- Serve as a working leader by modeling strong delivery discipline, organization, and problem-solving
- Support onboarding, training, and ongoing development of BPMO team members
Financial & Vendor Coordination
- Assist with tracking project financials, vendor spend, and capacity against approved plans
- Support vendor coordination and performance tracking in alignment with BPMO and IT objectives
- Ensure delivery commitments align with available resources and budget guidance
Change & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with the Director, BPMO to implement improvements to delivery processes, tooling, and reporting
- Translate BPMO strategy and standards into practical, executable actions for delivery teams
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, predictability, and team effectiveness

- Risks and issues are surfaced early and managed effectively
- Delivery data is accurate, timely, and trusted by leadership
- BPMO tools and processes are adopted because they support real work
- Project teams feel supported, coached, and enabled to deliver
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or a related field
- 6+ years of project and program management experience with hands-on delivery responsibility
- 4+ years of experience leading or mentoring project managers or analysts
- Strong working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies
- Hands-on experience using Jira, Confluence, and/or PPM tools
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar certification
- Experience in healthcare, regulated industries, or high-growth technology environments
