Job Description

Who We Are 
We are a fast-growing arbitration and medical billing company looking for a driven, detail-oriented professional who is excited about building impactful technology. Our Operations Technology team is developing a centralized Mail Management Platform that is transforming how our teams manage complex healthcare arbitration workflows.  Additionally, the teams utilize Snowflake for our enterprise data architecture to drive email automation.
 
Job Summary
The Business Analyst will play a critical role in the development and ongoing support of MailMan, HaloMD's Mail Management Platform, as well as the suite of email automation processes that power our operations in Snowflake. This role sits at the intersection of operations and technology, working closely with the Product Owner, operations leadership, and the development team to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
 
MailMan manages email communications across three channels, NSA formal arbitration, state-level arbitration, and informal negotiations - and integrates with Snowflake, Azure Blob Storage, and the Arbit dispute management system. The BA will support the full product development lifecycle, from story refinement and documentation through testing and production validation, while also maintaining and improving Snowflake-based email automation logic that operations teams depend on daily.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Requirements & Story Refinement
  • Partner with the Product Owner, operations leadership (including Managers and Specialists), and development team to refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and feature definitions for MailMan.
  • Break down complex platform features such as email routing rules, task assignment workflows, role-based permissions, and case view logic into clear, detailed, and testable requirements.
  • Own and maintain documentation supporting development including user flows, UI designs, edge cases, validation logic, and business process workflows.
  • Facilitate or support design sessions with stakeholders for upcoming features and releases. 
MailMan Platform Support & Analysis
  • Develop deep familiarity with the MailMan platform, its data model, and its integrations with Snowflake, Azure Blob Storage, and Arbit.
  • Analyze platform behavior across all user roles (Administrator, Manager, Specialist, User) and three communication channels (NSA, state arbitration, informal negotiations).
  • Document data flows, integration points, and interoperability requirements between MailMan and connected systems.
  • Support evaluation and documentation of new features throughout the roadmap, including email composition, task management, case view, and analytics modules.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving production issues by investigating underlying data, system configurations, or workflow logic. 
Snowflake Email Automation Support
  • Support the development, maintenance, and optimization of Snowflake-based email automation logic that drives operational workflows.
  • Write and maintain SQL queries in Snowflake to analyze email data, validate automation behavior, and support KPI tracking and reporting.
  • Identify patterns, anomalies, or failures in email automation pipelines and work with the development team to resolve them.
  • Validate data integrity between MailMan, Snowflake, and downstream systems; identify and document reconciliation issues.
  • Support the build-out of analytics infrastructure and clean data pipelines to enable operational reporting and dashboards. 
Testing & QA Support
  • Collaborate with QA and the development team to define and verify test cases aligned to MailMan requirements and user workflows.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) with operations end-users, including preparing test scenarios, coordinating feedback sessions, and documenting results.
  • Validate production changes and assist in regression testing across platform releases.
  • Test integrations and data flows between MailMan, Snowflake, and Arbit to ensure correctness end-to-end. 
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as a bridge between operations stakeholders and the technical team, ensuring requirements are understood and implemented accurately.
  • Participate in Agile sprint ceremonies including grooming, planning, standups, and demos.
  • Assist in the creation of ADO (Azure DevOps) tickets with clear technical specifications, acceptance criteria, and priority context.
  • Support change management and communications efforts as new platform features are rolled out to operations teams.
  • Help ensure traceability of features from concept through delivery and validation.
 
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
 
Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in business analysis, product operations, or a related role with exposure to software development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting product development in an Agile environment, including story writing, backlog grooming, and UAT.
  • Experience working with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses for data analysis and automation support strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare arbitration, medical billing, or dispute resolution workflows preferred but not required.
  • Experience in the healthcare or healthcare technology industry preferred.
 
Technical Skills
  • Strong SQL skills, particularly for querying and analyzing data in Snowflake.
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar project management and documentation tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) in an Agile methodology.
  • Ability to read and understand data models and integration architecture documentation.
  • Experience creating UI mockups or process flow diagrams preferred.
 
Soft Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate operational needs into technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working across both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
